Gwen Stefani is one of the baddest bitches there has ever been and will ever be. If you haven't listened to No Doubt and almost been brought to tears by her honest to fuck lyrics, or Tom's riffs, or Stephen's trumpeting, then you should seriously reconsider the direction of your life.
Of course we will be doing a post about the fact that she's in her forties and has a body you would sell yourself to the devil for, or the fact that she was into Harajuku before anyone in the mainstream western world thought it was cool,or the fact that she her sons have fucking JAMAICAN NAMES AND MOHAWKS.
This is simply us paying homage to a woman who emulates all the punk rock and fashion aesthetics and attitude that we can only ever hope to possess a fraction of.
HERE IS OUR GWEN SHRINE.
^Note baby Gwen with blue hair.

Badass Bitches: CHLOE NØRGAARD
This is the first post of a continual series here at Molotov Cocktail. There are so many inspiring bad ass bitches in the world who we'd love to share with you guys. Not like we own them or anything creepy...you'll probably know most of the ladies in this series, or maybe you'll learn something new. Badass Bitches is a feature on all the women we'd love to be best friends with, or steal clothes from, or have a drink with. BASICALLY BITCHES WHO ARE AWESOME!
And the first one is our latest model obsession....
CHLOE NØRGAARD
Chloe hails from Los Angeles (her surname is Danish) and comes in the most beautiful conglomeration of long limbs, crazy clothes and even crazier, colourful, rainbow hair. She defies the sullen, serious personalities that plague the modelling industry, with her cute tattoos and bubbly, happy vibe. The beginning of her career dates back a mere three years ago when she packed her bags and headed for Tokyo - I know omg - to pursue modelling, DJing and pretty much soaking up all that is Japanese street style. And the rest is history! Since then, Chloe has walked in a heap of Autumn/Winter 2013 shows including Nicole Miller, Rodarte, PPQ and Moschino Cheap & Chic, and has been featured in i-D, Gravure, VAGA and the Uniqlo Spring ad campaign and lookbook.
Her trademark rainbow her constantly evolves has she gives free reign to hair stylists to dye and style her hair in any way they see fit - but she mostly does it herself, and her hair is an extension of her artistic nature. From what we've gathered from hours of online stalking her, she is super down to earth, wild and vibrant. Chloe is obsessed with arts 'n crafts, weird and wonderful clothing, music festivals and travelling.
Also, her boyfriend is Asger Juel Larsen, Danish menswear designer. Their hair colours sometimes match...it doesn't get cuter than that, right?
One of the things that makes her so accessible as a model is her Tumblr, which we advise you stalk the shit out of! http://artoftranslation.tumblr.com/

Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
A few years ago, I stumbled upon an artistic masterpiece
in the form of sadistic photographs of beloved Barbie with her darling Ken in
very uncomfortable, shocking positions. Psycho Barbie Killer stayed with me (I
even wrote a short story about it for my school zine) and every time I update
my knowledge on Mariel Clayton's work, I am astounded, moved and
amused.
Clayton is a doll photographer (I know right, who knew that was
even a job?) who creates mesmerising sets using Barbie, Ken and their children
to produced very powerful commentary on society, love, the American Dream, same
sex marriage, gender roles, abortion, abuse, depression, fear, murder, psychopathic
tendencies, the institution of marriage - and she even delves into recreating
childhood fables and historical figures. The attention to detail of each set is
amazing - she utilises space to create Barbie rooms like no other, with each
object strategically place in such a way that it feels as though the
dolls themselves created the havoc of the rooms. Objects such as cigarettes,
dildos, blood, umbilical chords, weapons, food, alcohol and almost every
material possession you could think of features in Clayton's sets. Mariel is
entirely self taught and garnered her inspiration while on a trip to
Japan where she became fascinated with Japanese figurines - and thus her mind
began to chaotically produce these amazing pieces of art.
There are far too many themes and photographs for me to use all of
them, so I have selected a few photographs from three categories which are
currently my favourite. I strongly suggest that you visit her website and go
through all her pictures - they are pretty much all fucking fantastic.
This series is called 49/Rooms.
Each is titled with a word that reflects the situation in the room as America 's power
couple Barbie and Ken deal with the complicated issues, together and
respectively. I have selected five, but PLEASE check out the other 44.
Room Forty/Six - Insomnia
The next theme is called Wedded and Clayton comments, "It's all about the wedding and never about the marriage". Look at each photograph clearly and you will see how fucked up the situations actually are - with the The Crappy Couple being wasted and fucking members of their wedding party with vomit and placidity.
The Best Man
The Oakville Ladies Society Presents: 'The Gentlewomens Sociopathic Syllabary
Each photograph in this series is captioned with a letter of the alphabet that alludes to methods of torture and cold blooded murder.
Of or pertaining to vessel or jar used to store internal
organs of the deceased.
E is for Exodontia:
The extraction or removal of teeth
J is for Jactitation:
The restless jerking or spasming of the body
K is for Kreatophagia: The eating of raw meat
I WISH I COULD POST ABOUT ALL HER WORK, but I can't, so I encourage/demand/expect that you check out her other stuff. On her Facebook page, she has written in depth description and commentary for most of the photos - super interesting stuff. She is a brilliant writer, very funny and very cynical...!!!

Hello World!
Molotov Cocktail is the kooky child spawned from two individuals: Jimi and Holly.
This blog is a collective of fashion, art, music, film which is representative of us together as two clothing hungry, bindi fiending and cat snuggling friends, but also an outlet of our respective personalities and interests.
And although it seems like everyone has a blog these days, we thought…well, why the fuck not? This is the 21st century, and an online visual diary makes sense. So we took the plunge, got a Blogspot, and well….here we are!
Why “Molotov Cocktail”, you ask?
Because we’re both pretty sure it’s the coolest fucking weapon you need… and a makeshift bomb using glass bottles that have the capacity to cause maaajor damage? That’s the best way to describe our style and interests, if you want to be all poetic ‘n shit. If you were ever in situation that called for the use of a Molotov Cocktail – what kind of bottle would you use?
So, right now MC (yuuuppp) is a cooing infant which lacks posts/heart/character, but we hope to mould and raise her into something that can be appreciated by all you mental mense out there in the free world. And yes, we will be referring to our blog in the feminine third person. We hope this will be an outlet of shit we like that that hopefully you’ll like, and perhaps we can create some sort of style community where you can comment, advise, seek advice, and just connect with like minded people.
WE LOVE YOU ALL ALREADY
